Great reply, John. I really appreciate you taking the time to write it.

If Microsoft and AT&T would take as much interest in twisted pair as they have in cable, I'd feel even better. Thing is, there are only a bunch of seperate RBOCs protecting their own turf against all sorts of competition (CLECs, LD carriers trying to horn in, State Corporation Commissions, etc) who have any real reason to push xDSL, and so far, they seem to be more inclined to push their T1 and T2 connections. Which gives the two big gorillas a real broadband competitive advantage from a business sense, if not the technological perspective. IMO.

Interesting discussion though. I hope you are right and I'm wrong, but like I said, I'm a worrier. <G>
