christopher,
You are right to assume that Asia lags insofar as embracing internet technologies. And you may well be right that there will be, or are presently, opportunities for firms that will offer a host of services aimed at establishing a net presence for Asian companies. But do not be too quick to assume that the wherewithal of this doesn't reside internally. In general I find that in places like Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore there is a general awareness of these technologies and, in some cases, a mastery of them. But I also think that the recession here has had a toll on the rate of progress. In another, perhaps more critical example, Asian companies are said to lag substantially in preparedness for Y2K.
In general, as Asia recovers, there will be huge markets spawned by renewed interest in technology and other modernization steps.
