In a role reversal of sorts, Compaq (CPQ 24 5/8 +1 1/4) only box-builder to post gain... Losers led by IBM (IBM 209 7/16 -2 29/64), Hewlett-Packard (HWP 77 5/16 -2 15/16), Gateway (GTW 64 1/8 -2 1/2) and Dell (DELL 39 7/16 -1 7/8)... Latter stock due to report earnings on May 18.
