Comstock lode You are a good candidate to hear the story of the Comstock lode! Miners were looking everywhere for gold in California. Mines were started then abandoned. A young feller came across one of these abandoned mines and decided to try his luck. He walked in the mine and noticed a pick axe sticking in the wall. He pulled it out and hit a few licks. Almost immediately he hit a vein of pure gold - The famed Comestock lode. BTW Any of your ancestors leave a pick axe in a abandoned mine in Ca?
