Bob, FANTASTIC POST! Absolutely incredible. Boy, do you have a memory for novels and authors. Glad to say I've read quite a few of what you listed, but not all. Couple of authors: Ellison and Attanasio that I've never heard of. I've picked up the Hyperion novels, but never walked out with them. Another time. It seems that most people begin their life of SF with Heilein's juveniles. As I've mentioned before, mine was Tunnel in the Sky. The rest was history. I'm not too big into Fantasy, but I drool over McCaffery's Pern series. I was very happy to hear they're going to make a TV series out of it ... in Canada I think. Say, have you read Jack L. Chalker. One of my favs. All the best, Rory.
