Clark,
The bird issue was mostly pelicans. There is an island off Calif. where the Pelicans mate and nest each year, thousands of baby birds each year. In an effort to indict DDT a group of uninformed amateurs visited the island during the egg laying period to gather shells and measure the thickness. The pelicans destroyed virtually all their eggs when they were disturbed which even a novice orno* whould have known would happen. The head lines read "There will be no baby Pelicans this year due to DDT" So I suppose you could say that DDT was responsible huh? Junk science prevails, real research and discoveries come in second.
