Don: re: AT&T/ Microsoft. This post is redundant for you since you already know my opinion on the subject, but please allow me to elaborate on my answer to the general thread.
Remember, FNTN is not in competition with technology developers. On the contrary - the benefit from each technological development allows FNTN greater and better access to - and for their clients. FNTN's stated mission is to embrace new technology and adapt it to their own system to supply better and wider offerings. FNTN packages these off-the-shelf technologies, builds customized internal structures and sells them to vertical markets - and that's what the practical World needs - a way to apply these breakthroughs to the real World.
So as John Bissell mentioned, the merging of these technology titans could actually be beneficial to FNTN as well as others. As for the potential of competition, be it large or small, so what?
We already know that the Technology Universe is expanding even faster than the technology to fill it. We know that a small phone company can survive and thrive in the shadow of AT&T.
In this arena, reality has taught us that demand is way ahead of supply- partially because there are an abundance of technology developers but a shortage of implementers.
FNTN is an implementer.
So as of this writing and IMO, well into the next century, there appears to be plenty of room in the house for everybody.
