Hey Fred or Divit, remember the Mac G3 minitower with the Ziva chip for their DVD version? Well, I just bought a Mac G3 powerbook with DVD. I got out my farking screwdriver, tore the thing apart, and couldn't find anything that would seem to be an MPEG 2 decoder chip. The dude I bought it from (who claims to be a Mac consultant), says that it is a Sony DVD, and a Sony chip.
The only identifiable chip I could tell was a Motorola chip that was 1 inch by 1 inch, and don't know its purpose. Any thoughts on what chip might be in there? Thanks, Tim
