Kash, you may be on to something, though who would buy them? Xilinx? Altera? Neither seem likely. What about Lattice? Do you think they could pull off a stock swap merger soon after the AMD integration?

The trouble with that scenario is it seems Xilinx bid up the Vantis price and Lattice had to stay in the bidding or see their worst fears realized, i.e. having Xilinx as a strong competitor to them in the PLD space. I doubt Xilinx or Altera would bid up Actel, nor do I think Lattice would fear Actel being added to either of the larger competitor's product breadth.

Poor Actel, moved up from fifth in the programmable market to fourth, only to be more irrelevant than ever.
