Tellium has good stuff, but it is still not the consummate local WDM product, responsive to the huge new opportunity created by Lucent's Allwave fiber, which allows perhaps 1000 wavelengths within the existing state of the art for WDM (50 gigahertz spacing; 25 and even 10 will soon be possible). There are literally scores of companies aggressively entering this arena. The game is just beginning.
