Introduction

Hello, I have been a free subscriber to SI since 1996. It wasn't until recently(been busy working for a living !) that I realized that I'm still a registered member.

My mutual funds have been doing quite nicely but the ability to invest on my own has always been intriguing to me. My limited experience and my reluctance to loose my hard earned money, has prompted me to start with only 5K.

I have opened a Canadian cash and a Canadian/US margin account with Greenline.

I have been "lurking" the Canadian Stocks in SI for a couple months with great interest.
bought and sold NGQ,GEM,SBX .
The three stocks are actually dogz (omho)
NGQ- poor management (currently halted)
GEM- over 135+ mil float
SBX- just holding on to remain listed on the TSE

I bought these stocks based on momentum only.
(I've been using stop losses and currently up $330.00 after commissions) I consider myself lucky that I made a little so far.

After doing DD on IPZ.v , I purchased only 2K shares. This company seems to have a unique product needed through out the data transmitting industry. The upside seems to be unlimited as IPZ seems to be a "real" company. I consider IPZ a longer term hold.Once IPZ
NR's are positive and gaps up, I may pick up some more (time will tell)
