Humm, so let's see. I should have sold my Intel in July of 1997 at a split-adjusted $50. Since my cost basis is around $2 ½, I would end up paying about $12 a share in federal and state taxes leaving me with $38 a share to invest in “better” things – AMD perhaps? Whatever I chose would have had to rise 30% more than INTC just to break even.

Now let's see, if someone told me to leave my beautiful wife and family and shack up with an HIV positive hooker at a crack house, would that be good advice? A toughie, I'll admit.
