It's not just a case of developing a better mouse trap, you have to be able to market that mouse trap and hope people hear (and care about) your message enough to throw away their existing investment in mouse traps and invest in yours. Quidel appears to be doing all of the right things in this area. But don't expect overnight success with this and other quick-test products. We have to be patient and wait for this market to evolve. After that, we have to hope the big boys don't move in and eat our lunch.
