Thanks Bones. I noticed that many of the ISP's have monthly fees based on the speed of the service (i.e. 256k/$20, 384/$30, 784k/$40, etc.) GTE's rates for the line are also based on speed. I found one ISP (emeraldnet.net) that charges me $20 a month for any connection from 256k - 784k and gave me the first month free. I asked why they are cheaper then the others for this range of service and the rep said "maybe you should be asking the others why they are all so much more expensive." I'll look into this and get back to the thread when I know more.
