Paul, you've made a very good point that would never have occurred to me. This thing is hanging on a thread and if speculators ever get the idea that it's all desperation smok 'n mirrors, even the announcements meant to put out the heating gold arena will have the reverse effect of stoking the fire. NATO bombing foreign embassies rather than just the usual hospitals and market places might also finally take it's toll on equities and push gold.
