Refining (cracking) of long-chain hydrocarbons (crude oil) has been around longer than computers and thus was primarily a "manual" process.

But this is not to say that automated control and monitoring systems won't be impacted.

Plenty of resources available on the web if you are interested in finding out more about refineries and the petro-chemical processes.

Note: I'm not opining that there won't be disruptions in the petroleum industry. But neither am I saying their will. No one but the folks in charge of those systems really and truly know where they stand (and some of them aren't even sure).
