taxman, I am not surprised by the volatility in July and later call options. I have not spent too much time researching these options yet but a little more of a dip in volatility or the stock price may make them very interesting to consider. I will let you know when i start considering these plans and would appreciate your input.

On a related topic, I am looking for some put option candidates as well in my trading account. I have just locked up my account with 100% in Gateway shares and covered calls on those shares, expiring on May 21(can't wait for that date--I call it freedom day). However, it looks like it turned out to be a good (or lucky) investment move, buying the shares and selling the calls. May 24 I will probably buy a lot of MSFT and also look for some short/put candidates as well.
Unfortunately, there is no way I can buy puts or short in my retirement account in which i have large cash positions (against regulations in Canada).
