National Media Corporation Names Frederick S. Hammer As Chairman

PHILADELPHIA, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- National Media Corporation
(NYSE: NM), today announced that Frederick S. Hammer has been appointed
Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Hammer, a Partner of Inter-Atlantic Securities Corporation, has been a
member of National Media's Board of Directors since 1994 and replaces Ira M.
Lubert, who was serving as interim Chairman, and who will remain as a
Director.
"National Media Corporation is a Company that has made outstanding
progress over the past several years and is poised to take advantage of its
global opportunities. I'm pleased to serve as the Company's Chairman," Hammer
said.
Mr. Hammer has a strong background in international consumer markets. He
was formerly Executive Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank, where his
responsibilities included global consumer activities. Mr. Hammer has also
served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mutual of America
Capital Management Corporation, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Meritor Financial Group, and as a Director of VISA International Inc.
He is a graduate of Colgate University, with a Ph.D. in economics from
Carnegie-Mellon University. Active in civic affairs, he has been a long-time
trustee of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club. Mr. Hammer also serves as
a director of IKON Office Solutions, Inc., Search Capital Group, Inc., and
Provident American Corporation.
