National Media Corporation Announces Temporary Restraining Order Issued On `Fitness Strider'

PHILADELPHIA, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- National Media Corporation
(NYSE: NM) today announced that the United States District Court for the
Central District of California has issued a temporary restraining order with
respect to National Media's use of the name "Fitness Strider" and its current
infomercial for that fitness product. The order is effective until March 14,
1997, the date which has been established for a hearing regarding a
preliminary injunction. The Company has not yet received a formal written
order from the court.
The temporary order is applicable only in the domestic market, with no
restrictions on the international market, where National Media has its largest
audience.
It is anticipated that the applicant for the order will be required to
post a bond in connection with the order, in order to protect National Media.
