"who is the sixth?"

Here is what I have down in my collection of AAPL stats:

Mellon Bank 8.705 mil shares as of 12/31/98
Barclays 8.036 mil shares as of 02/12/99
Putnam 7.272 mil shares as of 03/09/99
P. Alawaleed 6.234 mil shares as of 04/01/97 (out of date)
Fidelity 5.447 mil shares as of 12/31/98
AMEX 2.017 mil shares as of 01/31/97 (out of date)
Soros approx 1.500 mil shares as of 12/31/98

Microsoft's $150 mil investment in Apple is currently in the form
of preferred shares but will be convertible into about 9.1 million
regular shares next year. So looks like MSFT is currently the largest
investor in AAPL. I think I'm going to barf....hehe.

I think Markkula sold most of his direct and indirect holding between 1996-97.
