SHOWSTAR AWARDED EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO AUCTION COCA-COLA COLLECTION

05/03/1999 - NEW YORK, NY - Showstar Entertainment Corporation (OTC BB:SHST) today announced it has negotiated the rights to be the exclusive online seller of one the world's largest private collections of Coca-Cola memorabilia. The Chapman S. Root Collection of America Ephemera consists of thousands of objects amassed over fifty years by the former Chairman of the Associated Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Inc. Under the leadership of Showstar's art expert, Kenneth Jay Linsner, the Company will build a virtual exhibition showcasing this important Collection. The online exhibit will be launched on the anniversary of his death on July 2.
Kenneth Jay Linsner ASA, SCV, an internationally-recognized New York-based art appraiser said, "The core of the giant ephemera collection, consisting of over 20,000 items, is being gifted to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach, Florida, where a new wing is being built in Mr. Root's honor to house the collection. In August 1999, we will launch the online auction of the remainder of the collection, which represents exact duplicates from the core exhibit as well as pieces that are equal to them in interest, rarity and condition."
Mr. Linsner continued, "Chapman S. Root became one of America's most successful businessmen by building on the foundation laid by the Root Glass Company in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is the Company that created and patented one of the world's best examples of Americana -- the Coca-Cola Bottle. Many of the items Mr. Root collected over fifty years now help to define our nation. This collection is remarkable and a testament to the life of this great man. This collection represents 50 years of Chapman S. Root's love of American Ephemera."
In addition to the Coca-Cola memorabilia, the Root Collection also includes thousands of other rare pieces of America Ephemera from 1900 to 1980. Examples include: Railroadiana, American Victoriana (household items and decorations), Drug Store Collectibles, Southwestern Collectibles, 500 rare bottles of Scotch Whiskies from 1920 to 1960, Casino Collectibles, Hotel and Restaurant Collectibles as well as Cruise Ship and Airline Collectibles.
Showstar announced on March 31, 1999 that it will be changing its corporate name to Showstar Online, Inc. The Company has also restructured its corporate strategy to focus on becoming a market leader in the booming field of on-line estate sales and auctions of art, antiques and collectibles supported by offerings of essential art services (appraisal, authentication and restoration). Showstar will also provide on-line art, antiques and collectibles education coupled with unique art related exhibitions and experiences worldwide.
