USA Technologies Announces First Credit Card-Activated Resident BusinessCenter in an Apartment Community
Residents at Bonnie Ridge Apartments Now Have Access to Credit Card-Activated Computer, Fax Machine, Photocopier Installation Marks USA's Entry Into an Untapped Consumer Market
WAYNE, Pa., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- USA Technologies Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: USTT), the leader in public access computing, announced today that Bonnie Ridge Apartments, located in Baltimore, Md., has become the first apartment community in the nation to feature Business Express(TM), USA's self-serve credit card-activated business center. Bonnie Ridge, managed by Community Realty Co. Inc. in Greenbelt, Md., is comprised of 966 units housing more than 3,000 residents.
With locations in more than 300 hotels nationwide, Business Express is the leading self-serve business center provider to the hospitality industry, until now the sole target market for this product. The installation at Bonnie Ridge Apartments marks the first installation of Business Express in a location other than a hotel. Each Business Express features business systems for consumers who need quick access to personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines and laptop workstations. IBM personal computer workstations, featuring Microsoft and IBM software which provide Internet and e-mail services, are also part of the Business Express solution. As a business partner, IBM installs, services and maintains the business center units.
"We pride ourselves on providing our residents with the highest quality service and amenities. With Business Express, our residents will now enjoy access to a variety of office equipment, without having to leave our community," said Marion Gunther, community director of Bonnie Ridge Apartments. "In addition, Business Express is an attractive product because it will generate revenue which can be re-invested in our community."
Bonnie Ridge's resident business center features two personal computers, a fax machine, a medium-size photocopier and a laptop workstation (equipped with a dataport and printer connection). USA Technologies custom designed this configuration of components based on Bonnie Ridge's middle/upper-income residents and the services they would use most.
"Business Express is the standard in self-serve business centers for the hospitality industry. However, apartment communities are one of several untapped market opportunities that we are looking to become active in," said Margaret L. Broadwell, director of marketing for USA Technologies. "In addition to over 48,000 hotels in the United States, there are presently 23,000 larger apartment communities that may be ideal locations for our Business Express family of products.
"With the tremendous growth of home businesses, Business Express is a natural amenity designed to satisfy middle and upper-scale communities that want to reduce resident turnover," Broadwell continued.
Other USA credit card-activated business products include Laptop Dataport Express, a functional laptop/dataport connection and workstation, and USA's Public PC, a stand-alone IBM computer and printer. All of USA's business products are serviced and maintained by IBM Global Services.
With patented technology and a rapidly expanding product line, USA Technologies is the leader in providing credit card-activated business services for professionals and consumers needing to communicate or conduct business outside the home or workplace.
