Kevin,

Yes, the coms/usrx deal needs shareholders approval and is expected to be done by summer. Lots of institutions already jumped ship when coms prewarned poor earnings, more of them did so after the announcement of the deal, so chance of shareholder objection is slim. Also there is heavy penalty involved if either party walks away. Looks like the climatic sell-off coms at 32-33 is over - today amid heavy ndx sell-off, it stood firm at 35. of course there is always the market melt-down thing to worry about. Or, it could have the unfortunate fate of synoptic/wellfeet merger to become today's bay, due to a totally different corp culture and geographic locations. But in coms/usrx case, ego seems to play very little part - do you notice that usrx's ceo casey is not even incl in the future executive committee ? he would become vice chairman of board of director of coms. seems like he will be phrasing out of daily management.
