It is precisely because of the apathy that you describe that investors get what they deserve.

Our perpetual silence gives scammers, fraudsters, manipulators and overall scum "carte blanche" to do as they please with our investments, our pension funds, our life savings, and our dreams,

It is only when investors realize that collectively they have the power to demand accountability that this abuse will come to an end. Investors have the power to demand that existing laws be enforced and they also have the power to change ineffective laws.

Complaining to local Securities Commissions and politicians, exposing culprits to the media, closing accounts at devious brokerage houses are only some of the immediate means that we have at our disposal. But the most effective weapon against these types of abuse is by spreading the word to other investors. Boards such as this gives investors just that opportunity.
