<I don't think ATM will be around ten years from now, especially with the new communications protocols coming out. The wireline companies infrastructure will be completely different.

From an engineering standpoint I really like IP as an expandable medium. Although people can argue when it will happen the undercurrent of change is there.

It's fun being an engineer following this stuff!>

totally out-of-touch from reality; there are still many protocols (such as SNA) being in used today that were there twenty yrs ago and will still be around twenty yrs from now; not to mention ATM that is barely just in its infancy now.
Saying that "The wireline infrastructure will be totally different" ?? like what ? maybe meant that instead of cross-cut stitches will be using butter-fly stitches, is that what you trying to say ?

That's why you said it is fun engineering stuff, which school did you go to learn how to do these cute sticthes and styles.
