Char, bought my new Ruger Mini-14 yesterday. The ranch stainless steel synthetic stock model. Very nice little rifle. I have an M1 carbine for around the house use, but the range is limited to ~200 yd. The Mini-14 with a scope should be good for 350+ yd. work. Picked up 500 rounds of Federals and will get another 1k or so for my y2k stash. I haven't shot it yet, it's been raining, but look forward to shaking it out. I ordered a few 40 rnd magazines to complement the gun. Get your high cap magazines while you can.
