billserv.com, Inc.(OTC BB:BLLS)...today announced it has signed a three-year exclusive agreement with the San Antonio Express-News that will enable Express-News subscribers to view and pay their newspaper bills over the Internet.
The Express-News, which is San Antonio's largest daily newspaper and a Hearst Corporation newspaper, currently has more than 250,000 home-delivered subscribers.

Initially, billserv.com will process Express-News subscriber bills through CheckFree, the leading electronic billing consolidator. Later this year, customers also can pay their bills through a variety of sites, including bills.com, a new EBPP portal that billserv.com is developing, enabling consumers to pay bills electronically for free. Ultimately, billserv.com will enable the Express-News to process
subscriber bills and payments through any bill consolidator Web site or Internet portal that partners with billserv.com.

This initial period may last for a while though.<G> I wish there were more billserve.coms around to convert all those local papers, water and power utilities, cable companies, etc. It would give EBPP critical mass much sooner. May be CF should start somehow franchising their business?
