I am curious about something. You have a nine-year-old in school in California. Here are the Virginia standards of learning, adopted in 1995. Could you take a look at the respective standards of learning for your daughter's class level, and tell me how they compare with what she is being taught? They seem somewhat advanced to me, but I went to public school in Louisiana, which is rather backward.
