More Amazon-slagging in Barrons this weekend. Columnist Alan Abelson carries some comments from a fellow Amazon bear and i-banker who thinks Amazon is worth ... closer to $8.

Here's the gist, using Amazon's own numbers from the Bibliofind acquisition:

When Amazon disclosed the acquisition it was selling at around $215 a share. That means it was paying three million shares, equal to nearly 2% of the total shares outstanding. Well, if Amazon is willing to part with 2% of the company for an operation worth at most $25 million, the only conclusion is that management thinks Amazon is worth no more than $1.25 billion. Finally, given Amazon's float that means each share is worth roughly $8 ($1.25 billion divided by 150 million).
