I found some more information from Alpnet's web site. Very interesting company. Financially, the total revenues for 1995 were $26.9 million, an increase of 31% over $20.5 million for 1994. Net income for 1995 was $621,000 or $0.03 per share, compared to a net loss of ($714,000) or ($0.04) per share for the year ended December 31, 1994. The total revenues for 1st quarter of 1996 were $6.5 million with net income of $29,000 or $0.001 per share compared to revenues of $5.9 million with net income of $14,000 or $0.001 per share for the first quarter of 1995. The mission of the company can be summarized in the words of ALPNET President and CEO's Thomas F. Seal as follows: "This year we announced a partnership with Europe Online which is intended to provide high quality in-country translation and localization serivces over the Internet. This is the first step in our plans to take the leadership position in the combination of translation and the information superhighway. ALPNET will be a leader in helping countries translate and localize their own World Wide Web sites, in order to facilitate our clients providing their goods and services internationally. In addition, we will provide our own set of linguistic services over the Internet." This appears to be a significant untapped market of the Internet, i.e. to provide a service to support multilingual web sites for international companies. good luck.
