Mitch, Market Makers may be short: Check out this thinking on the two 150K trades

Thanks Mitch, I have Level 2 and 99% of the time you can figure out which are buys and sells as they happen.

I have thought about the two 150,000 blocks the other day.... a 150K trade at .84 and another 150K @ .85.

Since the bid was .75 x.85 at the time, I thought they were both buys, but the stock price did not move.

So it is possible that the MM's did a "cross"...meaning that a broker had a client wanting to BUY 150K shares and so they found someone else who was willing to SELL 150K shares, but only if the MM's offered him a price of .84!

Think about it.....

the MM's were short and had to pay .84 to get enough shares to cover the desired buy.

Intersting, huh?
