Ian, I am in the dark just as you are. What is clear to me, the last right offering was less than a success and VEBA had to pick up a bunch of shares. On the other hand, such large outfits that manage by the numbers (past) rather then by a combination of the number and strategic positioning in the market, often throw the towel at absolutely the worst time.

I think that WFR is going to take a bad tumble first, and that might indeed provide the cathartic clean up that will allow this one to soar again like a phoenix. If indeed the Asian foundries are increasing their loading from some 70% of capacity to more than 100% of today's capacity, that might allow WFR to increase its production well over break even, at least out there, and that might be the turnaround signal.

Let's wait until the end of next week to see what the market's verdict on all this is.
