Sorry for late response, I may be a defendant in a online posting suit.
OFF TOPIC

PhyCor has sued to get the identities of 50 "John Does" on the PHYC Yahoo board. I have been posting there but not as a short player, had no interest in the stock for a year. Anyone who is interested in the ability to legally express opinions on the internet should look at this suit. I'm probably not one of the defendants, but several sincere, respectable people are....

ON TOPIC

<<Zebra...any comments on the statement from DR. Melman at Albert Einstein Medical Center that Gene Therapy for ED could start human testing as early as late 1999???????>>

Somatic gene therapy has a lot of human trials in other fields. The biggest problem is the public misconception of the safety. Like nuclear power (which in the US has a TREMENDOUS safety record compared to fossil fuel power generation) the public thinks in terms of Godzilla, or "The Attack of the Fifty-Foot Woman" or "The Boys from Brazil" when you talk about genetic manipulation. The public does not distinguish between somatic and germ line genetic therapy. This will be one of the greatest hurdles to overcome.

I think in the future we will control cholesterol through somatic gene therapy, reduce coronary artery disease, and treat many cancers with these genetic tools. Not to mention treating ED with them. And that will happen through VVUS.

On the immediate front, I think we should start a fund to get Lee Wilson a new wardrobe, dental work, and a course in CEO communication before the next CC. Or else he must call in sick and let the new CFO do the talking.

THAT will move this stock before gene therapy does IMHO.
