You will very likely find three or four episodes of this story in the Last Mile thread, that have dealt with the topic of data over power lines. It's a recurring theme, like the search for the holy grail.

Sooner or later, someone is going to start looking at this from a skin effect perspective, using 3G radio principles, and some ancillary bypasses at the pole transformers and substations, and then maybe it'll be appear to be more plausible. Wonder if QCOM has looked at this seriously, using CDMA, yet? Oops... almost forgot. Emission and RFI problems. Then, a block of freqs that is licensed for same?
