briand/mike, I wasn't aware that Ascend was the only vendor delivering a carrier-platform with MPLS. The Dell'Oro report shows ATM carrier percentages for 1Q98 and 4Q98: Cisco 23% - 19% (minus 4%) Nortel 18% - 25% (Plus 7 %) Asnd - 18% - 23% (Plus 5%) It's starting to sound like Cisco isn't interested in the combined product of ATM+IP in the Core. I would think LU/Asnd are glad to see they don't have to worry about Cisco having an ATM core product.
