In light of so many fine posts. As few of my own brief half baked opinions. Why I wish to now establish an additional ultra long position - however small it has to be. Why I think Bramson may well have had a stroke of genius here ( as opposed to giving shareholders strokes with the KM and Mitsubishi suit attempts).

All of course, just my opinion. Written on the run.

I think Bramson simply means the time is NOW. The fledgling audience exists NOW. The bare beginnings of adequate streaming quality is here NOW. ( as depicted by the graphic of an early TV on AEN's Judy Tenuna show). Bandwidth will only make all better. The audience will do nothing but grow...and rapidly.

With tens of thousands of potential international internet channels looming, the simple business demand for content and nuts and bolts business and production skills specific to the web

....most learned from rolling up the sleeves with daily trial and error efforts ...the prime advantage of early entry ......

will put, what now seems to be the maniacal supply and demand curve for net related shares, to shame. Regardless of which behemoth wins the battle for the last mile. Regardless of the famous names that enter the fray ( they move too slowly ).

Ampex, with its skills..proprietary ( some will be) or not ...is simply showing up at the right time. They are building a structure that will eventually either do booming business or be bought. And at a price a hell of alot higher than the present one- for those that can wait.

In my opinion, future acquisitions will probably mostly be international production companies. Purchased mainly for stock + just enough cash to bring them up to what will become " Ampex" specs. They will still do what they have done in the past, but with a new audience. A new focus. ( and new- constantly evolving "Ampex" techniques).

And I do agree that Bramson would not be stating these goals unless he had some idea of where the cash was going to come from. Wherever that might be.
