There is no recourse against a bad law except to change it or get a court to set it aside. The principle of the rule of law does not give each of us the right to decide for ourselves which laws suit us...
Clinton ratified this discovery process, and it is ironic, not snide, to point it out. As for protecting against "collateral damage", that is not a defense against perjury, although it may be a mitigating factor in sentencing...
The suit had already been appealed, and the reason that the President settled before a ruling was that it was widely believed that the appeals court would re- instate the suit. In any event, whether or not Judge Wright made a summary judgment based upon the evidence before her has no bearing on whether he defrauded the court, which is why she still cited him for contempt and imposed stiff penalties...
Judge Wright did nothing wrong...
The disposition of the suit is independent of the question of whether or not Clinton acted in a manner contrary to the Constitutional trust reposed in him....
