Hello James Knowlton, no I am not saying NOVL is not profitable. NetWare will survive for years to come and will continue to be a cash cow for the company. My only concern is that the management of NOVL is not trained to handle the competition from MSFT now that NT has made a big dent in their once exclusive world.

Will NOVL change with the current executive staff ? I doubt it very much. They are in a "confusion" mode and replacing all of them (CEO, President and board of directors) is the first step. Second step is to cut the fees these directors charge by 1/2 and bring them down to the industry norm.

Third, cut the price of NetWare and lets start a price war if necessary. NOVL has to retain the current NW 3.x customers if it is to remain independent.

My advice: Sell to the highest bidder before this stock tanks further.
On the other hand, if a company purchases NOVL at a high premium to the current price, it will be the employees who will be affected the most. Cost cutting will definetly be the primary mandate...as it was with IBM many years ago.
I will vote my rights to provide the employees with a generous buyout
such as:
30 wks salary + 2 wks salary for every year worked + continued benefits for one year from date of termination.
