AML makes eqpmt for cellular networks. Bought some AML today around 28.
To quote the Red Herring 3/96 issue, p. 94 (a very good investment-oriented technology magazine): "Designs amplifiers and related products for wireless communications. Cellular products were introduced in late '94 and are marketed to cellular system operators. Amplifiers carry multiple signals simultaneously in an integrated, high power, transmit/receive format. Products support multiple standards & formats, including AMPS, TACS, NMT, TDMA, CDMA, GSM, & FHMA." -----
From PRNewswire press release, dated May 20: The company's primary mkt, cellular communications, is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Declining cost of service, technological improvements, and the ongoing installation of communications systems in most parts of the world are driving demand for equipment. cellular subscribers in the US number 30 million. Mkt forecasts project growth to 100M subscribers in this country by 2005 and the worldwide industry is expected to be at 1.5 times as large. This 20-25% subscriber growth per year will require 7,500 new cell sites in the US in 1996 alone from the present base of 22,000 sites.
AML's products are being installed in these cell sites and enable the system operators to deal with insufficient cell coverage and capacity as well as addressing their customers need for fewer dropped calls and improved service quality. -----
Long-term fundamentals look good to me, and the short-term is also positive. AML is at support at the 15-day moving average. That's why I bought a little position today.
