Euro-phones:

Dolfan, about non-CDMA phones in Europe: " I believe it may be the GSM protocol. Let me do some research and I will post it. If anyone would care to answer this reply please do."

Yes, GSM is popular in Europe, while CDMA has mostly been installed (so far) in North America, and the Pacific Rim.

However, there are some new rounds of GSM standardization happening now, and the new "third generation" protocols take some things from CDMA. So there may be opportunities, there, too.

Because CDMA seems to make better use of bandwidth, there are already some systems going in to compete with existing GSM systems. I believe there's a CDMA network being installed in Australia, for example, which currently has wide GSM coverage from, I think (from memory), two competing networks.
