It looks like the Chinese are really going bezerks over this, and are being encouraged by the government. Workers have been joining students, and these are by far the largest protests since the cultural revolution ended.

A CNN journalist was hit, and students had to restrain a part of the crowd who wanted to kill her. It doesn't look good, and the communist leadership is only too happy to milk this event for all it's worth. I see it as a psychological game and a warning to the US not to assist Taiwan.

These demonstrations may come as a shock to those in the US who thought the Chinese had been transformed into pro-americans through Mullan and Mc Donald.
