Gonzongo - I am almost there!!! Thanks!! I changed the ProcessMS line to include VMS instead of MSDATA. Once the change was made I can now see the stocks in GET charts as opposed to not seeing them before. By creating a directory in "Virtual" vs. a hardcopy Metastock one, the DOS qp_lc mode runs MUCH faster when it cleans and works on the directories. I have only one directory clicked in GET - Computrac/Metastock's getscans\avgvol. By the way once I checked off "Alternate Name 1" under Properties in the Computrac/Metastock Datapath the symbols come up nicely. Here's my remaining problem and it may be GET related but I know that you, Richard, Sean etc. lurk here as much as there. There are 2654 stocks and indices produced out of the QP scan. When I run a search/scan in GET, under the status bar, the program hangs after the 14th of 2654 is scanned. My computer just sits there and does nothing. This happens at the exact point no matter what scan I run. I have: 1)re-booted and the same thing happens 2)ran a search/scan on the 24000 symbol QP datapath and that works fine into the letter B(my problem in the getscans/avgvol search is at the beginning of A) 3)re-ran the scan in QP, created a new list, re-created the Computrac/Metastock datapath in GET and it still does the same thing - HANGS!!! I don't understand why the search would hang on a symbol in one datapath but not another. This is probably more related to the GET thread but I'll try here first. As always, thanks for all the prompt responses - Lenny
