I agree with you. Cisco can be a formidable opponent politically in most accounts. Cisco may downplay the importance of IP/ATM in the core, primarily from lack of competitive products, but I would think that this would eventually put them at a disadvantage with NT and LU having the ability to provide an end to end solution, especially when LU and NT add a competitive carrier class routing platform to their arsenal's. The ability for the carriers to build a homogeneous network and manage it with Naviscore or whatever NT's management platform is could cost Cisco the ability to penetrate these accounts. Network management from end to end is going to play a major role in the deployment of these networks going forward.
NT could provide the biggest opponent to LU going forward, though I would expect the ATM growth numbers to reverse with the added LU clout behind ASND's products. This is, of course, speculation from a non-engineer.
