Yeah, somebody got our bank account number once. Best thing to do is bite the bullet and open all new accounts as soon as you can.

In our state you can have another identification number for your license --- maybe you know this already, but one should never write their social security number on a check -- never, not even to the IRS.

Luckily at the time it happened to us we had a banker who was somewhat vigilant and a crook that was pretty stupid. Tried to pass a rather large withdrawal through -- at the time we didn't have much -- so that raised a red flag at the bank.
