Word around the "Wall Street cocktail party circuit": CUBE is the hot stock because of AT&T's preference for a "open cable" solution. Before the AT&T/MediaOne deal, the apparent general sentiment was that because of John Malone, GIC was a shoe-in for ALL the STB business. Michael Armstrong's comments about utilizing many suppliers going forward genuinely surprised quite a few people on Wall Street. The dramatic increase in CUBE's trading volume on Friday with NO NEWS supports that change in sentiment - not to mention the upgrades. Again, I look for 33 by Thursday. This is going to be big and sustained. All you TA guys better get out right at 30 - just in case!?
