I think you and many on WS have things backwards. This doesn't appear to me to be a defensive move at all! It appears extremely offensive. I view it as two super powers combining to form a mega super power. Why do you assume that it is defensive?? I think Cowell has done a very good job of explaining the purpose and benefits of the merger.
