No, it has nothing to do with 'trader status'. Where did you get that in my post? And is has nothing to do with 'millions' either, I was following through with your example when I used $1M. It works with less $$ also. If you lost $10k last year you deduct $3k and carryfwd $7k. If you make $7k in capital gains this year you pay -0- tax.
