$$$$$ WINDOWS TO BE ADDED TO 10 MILLION TV'S

MICROSOFT CORP's Windows software is headed for
as many as 10 million U. S.
television sets. As part of the deal with AT&T
(T) that included a $5 billion
investment by Microsoft, AT&T agreed to use
Microsoft's Windows CE software in
at least 2.5 million set-top boxes that will
deliver digital-television and
telephone service and high-speed Internet access,
with an option to buy another
2.5 million copies. If you add the 5 million
units that Tele-Communications
Inc., now a part of AT&T, agreed to use last
year, you are looking at 10 million
TV's - TO START!

In a separate announcement automatic teller
machines (ATM) that can log on to
the Internet are to be launched in Japan. The
ATMs, which use Microsoft
software, can be used for online shopping, ticket
vending and information
searches as well as banking services, the two
firms said.

COMMENT: This information should be filed in the
"Why We Love Microsoft
Department" and added to the "Why We Would Buy
Microsoft at these Lofty Levels
Department."
