The US support for the British over the Falklands was zip. much to
Thatcher's disgust. It was apparent US indifference that prompted the Argentine junta to invade in the first place.

Post War history shows that the British haven't been able to rely on their American allies for much -The Suez Crisis in '56 is a classic example.
