Adviser.com Alert - the-adviser.com

Dear Clients and Investors:

This research brief was issued at 11:11 U.S. EST on May 9, 1999. As
usual, research articles will be posted by Monday morning before the
market opens.

There is increasing evidence of seasonality in the e-commerce business.
As warm weather arrives - individuals are going to the beach or shopping
at outdoor malls rather than sitting at their computers. Accordingly, the
week begins with our anticipation that Internet related stocks that focus
on content (e.g. Amazon.com, Yahoo.com, Ebay.com, Priceline.com and
Ivillage.com) will decline.

Our favorite content company, America Online has declined due to concern
over loss of customers to broadband players (e.g. cable access). We
believe such concern is overblown and that AOL will continue to be a
significant player in the content arena. We guide investors who hold no
Internet holdings to dollar average into these stocks during this volatile
period.
Yahoo.com has been the subject of acquisition rumors although we
have nothing formal to report. Although we doubt an outright acquisition
of Yahoo will occur (we could be wrong), we do expect that AT&T and Yahoo
will shortly announce a major content sharing deal. This will be big news
for Yahoo!. Take advantage of dips in Yahoo!

Our focus last week on Amazon.com was appropriately timed. We urged
investors to sell their holdings and lock in their profits and avoid their
loss. Amazon.com declined 35 points or 21%. Although we do not have a
formal short rating on the stock, we expect a similar decline this week.
(See the-adviser.com for research article on Amazon).
Volatility prevents our analysts from formally issuing a short rating.

This week - we issue investment ratings and recommendations on over 8
